WYH 50-lap Challenge Skate-a-thon and Family Skate

The WYH 50-lap Challenge Skate-a-thon will be held this Saturday April 1st at the JAR from 6-7 p.m. Participants should bring their donations and arrive early enough to register and be ready for the ice (skates, helmet, gloves) by 6.

The skater that raises the most money wins a pair of tickets to next Tuesday's Boston Bruins game (April 4)! So keep collecting donations between now and Saturday!

If you were in Learn to Play and didn't get a donation envelope but would like to participate, you are welcome to do so. We can arrange (email watertowny@gmail.com) to get you an envelope) or you can bring a donation to the rink on Saturday.

Immediately following the Skate-a-thon, the ice will be available for a Family Skate. Friends and family of WYH skaters will be welcome to skate. The Family Skate will take place from approximately 7 to 7:50 p.m.

Sharper Edge Spring/Summer Skating and Hockey Lessons

The Sharper Edge team has announced their Spring and Summer Skating and Hockey Programs (see below for registration info and links.

If your child is interested in playing hockey or figure skating, these "off-season" lessons are a great way to continue her/his development.

For more advanced skaters at the Mite and older playing levels, I highly recommend the "Hockey Edge" skating lessons. Mite parents may want to talk to coach Dawn about their skater's readiness for this program. My older son Liam did it last spring and I could not believe the improvement in his skating. For information about the programs, go to the Sharper Edge Website.

Hello Skaters!

Please Read This ENTIRE Email

Below you will find links to the Spring and Summer 2017 Skating and Hockey Program Applications.  The applications are in standard Adobe PDF format and once you open the file you can click to type in the fields.  Once you fill in the fields you can print the document, sign the necessary fields and submit with payment to us either in person or by mail.  If you have issues opening the files it may be that you do not have a program to open PDF files.  We have provided a link to download Adobe Reader below if that is the case.  If you still have issues please email or call us and we can arrange to get you a sign-up form another way.

Remember, classes fill up fast so be sure to get the forms and payments submitted to us by the due date listed on each application!!  Please do NOT email us the completed forms as the forms need to be submitted at the same time as payments are received.

Lastly, we would like to remind everyone that if your child is sick or has a fever PLEASE be respectful to the other children (and teachers!) in your child's class and use your best judgment for either choosing to bring or not to bring your child to class.  Your child needs to be fever free for 24 hours in order to attend class.  We reserve the right to not allow your child to attend class based on their level of being sick.  We will do our best to reschedule or provide make-up classes to your child if that is the case.

Michal's Hockey Academy Summer Camps

Looking for summer camps for your kids? Why not get your camper some time on the ice prior to next season?

Michal's Hockey Academy, our neighbors at the nearby Fessenden Rink in Newton, are offering week-long, full-day hockey summer camps again this coming August. And once again, they are offering players from WYH a nice 20% discount off the fee for those registered by the end of April.

This year they are offering both a "Total Skills" camp option for kids 6-14 and a more advanced "Elite Players" camp for kids 8 and up. Half-day options are also available.

If you're looking at summer camps and want to get your skater some time on the ice prior to next season, here is a link for camp info and registration:
